Santa Marinella stretches along a section of the southern Etrurian coast overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, sheltered at its back by the Tolfa mountains. One of the most picturesque areas is the Maiorca park, where a row of charming wooden stilt houses stands in succession, creating a unique and captivating landscape, made even more unforgettable by the play of light at sunset.

The history of Santa Marinella dates back to ancient times. Castles, Roman villas, and archaeological sites enrich the area: from Castrum Novum, a Roman maritime colony founded in 264 BC, to the ancient Etruscan settlement of Pyrgi, and the many Roman bridges along the old Via Aurelia. Among its greatest treasures is the Castle of Santa Severa, considered one of the most evocative landmarks in Lazio. This site of extraordinary historical, cultural, and natural value lies just a few kilometers from the Macchiatonda Nature Reserve. Today, the medieval castle is open year-round with a wide range of museums, exhibitions, events, concerts, guided tours, and sports activities. Inside, there is also a hostel with 14 rooms and 40 beds, allowing young people and families to fully experience the magic of this seaside fortress.
